Hitesh Gulia World Boxing Cup 2025 Gold: Jhajjar Boxer’s Historic Triumph

Oh my gosh, you guys, have you heard about Hitesh Gulia World Boxing Cup 2025 Gold? Hitesh Gulia, a 20-year-old boxer from Jhajjar, Haryana, just made history by winning India’s first-ever gold medal at the World Boxing Cup in Brazil on April 5, 2025! He’s like a superhero, and his story’s all over the news and X, making everyone super proud!

Hitesh won the men’s 70kg category at the tournament in Foz do Iguaçu. He was supposed to fight England’s Odel Kamara in the final, but Odel got hurt and couldn’t fight, so Hitesh got a walkover and the gold medal! India also grabbed six medals total—one gold, one silver by Abhinash Jamwal in 65kg, and four bronzes by other cool boxers like Jadumani Singh and Sachin. Hitesh told The Times of India he almost quit boxing in 2022 because his family didn’t have enough money. Can you imagine? He was ready to give up, but then the Indian Navy took him in as a sailor through a sports program, and that changed everything!

Growing up in Jhajjar wasn’t easy for Hitesh. His family wasn’t rich, and boxing needs lots of training and good food to stay strong. He said on MyKhel that keeping his weight at 70kg is super hard, and he follows a strict diet, like no extra parathas, I bet! He used to practice in local rings, probably getting sweaty and tired, but he kept going. The Navy gave him a chance to train better, and he won gold at the National Championships and Uttarakhand National Games before Brazil. A Navy coach, Suranjoy Singh, who won big medals himself, spotted Hitesh and helped him shine.

In Brazil, Hitesh was awesome! He beat a French Olympian, Makan Traore, 5-0 in the semifinals, which is like totally owning the ring! He said the 10-day training camp in Brazil taught him new tricks, like how to dodge punches better. On X, people are going wild, saying stuff like, “Hitesh is Jhajjar’s pride!” and “India’s boxing star!” (@TheKhelIndia, @du_jat). The Boxing Federation of India posted a cool picture of him with his medal, and even the Navy cheered (@ghoomhaikahi). India sent 10 guys to the tournament, and getting six medals is huge, especially after a not-so-great Olympics in 2024.I think Hitesh Gulia World Boxing Cup 2025 Gold is so inspiring because he didn’t let being poor stop him. He worked super hard, even when he thought he’d have to quit. Now he wants to win at the World Championships in Liverpool and the 2026 Asian Games! I told my friends at school, and we all want to try harder at sports or studies, even when it’s tough. I hope Hitesh keeps punching and maybe fights at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. What do you think about Hitesh Gulia World Boxing Cup 2025 Gold? Isn’t he the coolest? Let’s cheer for him and maybe be a little braver, just like he was!
